Kitchen Manager Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations at AVAZZI, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and efficiency. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting the Head Chef in the overall management of the kitchen.Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure that all food is prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Monitor food safety practices and enforce sanitation protocols to maintain compliance with health department regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas to ensure cleanliness and proper equipment maintenance.
  • Train kitchen staff on food safety practices and proper handling techniques to minimize risks.Team Leadership and Development:
    • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure high performance and teamwork.
    • Develop and manage weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
    • Assist in recruiting, training, and onboarding new kitchen staff, ensuring alignment with restaurant standards and culture.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment by encouraging open communication and collaboration among team members.
    • Identify and develop high-potential staff for future leadership roles within the kitchen.Inventory and Ordering:
      • Manage inventory levels for food and kitchen supplies, conducting regular stock checks and placing orders as needed.
      • Collaborate with the Head Chef to forecast menu needs and adjust ordering based on sales projections and seasonal changes.
      • Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items to minimize waste and maintain quality.Requirements:
        • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a kitchen environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.Knowledge and Skills:
          • Proficient in food safety and sanitation regulations.
          • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and culinary techniques.
          • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
          • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
          • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
          • Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and kitchen management software.Work Conditions:
            • Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
            • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a physically demanding environment.
            • Access to reliable transportation and availability during operating hours.
